
Berry Picks Up NEC Player of the Week

Junior averaged 4.2 kills with .526 hitting percentage
SOMERSET, N.J. – Sacred Heart University men's volleyball outside hitter had two strong performances over the weekend during the team's trip to Indiana. For his efforts, he was named First Point/Northeast Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
It's the first award for Berry and the first for the Pioneers under the NEC umbrella. Cole Younger earned EIVA Defensive Player of the Week on February 28. Nicola Iannelli from St. Francis Brooklyn was named NEC Defensive Player of the Year while Merrimack's Zyshonne Lang collected Rookie of the Week.
Against Purdue Fort Wayne and sixth-ranked Ball State, the Fair Lawn, N.J. native averaged 4.2 kills and 1.1 digs with a .526 hitting percentage. Berry had a season-high 13 kills plus five digs and a .579 hitting percentage versus the Mastodons. He came back to produce 12 kills versus Ball State.
The Pioneers are on the road Friday against Princeton at 7 p.m.
