Pioneers move into first in NEC standings
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— First year Ny'Ceara Pryor dropped 25 points to help the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team cruise past Wagner, 65-47, on Thursday. The Pioneers are 8-1 in Northeast Conference play and moved into first place alone.

Of Note
The game was close in the early stages. Sacred Heart struggled from the field, shooting 3-of-12 (25.0%) in the first quarter. SHU made the necessary adjustments in the second as it outscored Wagner, 16-9, to take the 28-22 leadgoing into halftime.
The Seahawks went on a 14-5 run to regain the advantage, 39-38, with 1:45 left in the third. Out of a SHU timeout, Pryor and senior Olivia Tucker registered the next six points to give SHU a lead it would not relinquish.
The Pioneers put the game away in the fourth, outscoring the hosts 21-8. Pryor produced 12 of her game-high 25 points in the final frame.
The Pioneers had the advantage from the free-throw line, making more free throws (17-of-27) than Wagner took (8-of-16)
Pryor finishes with her ninth 20+ point performance of the season. Sajada Bonner was just one off her season high as she tossed in 19 points.
