Decisive Game Three Goes to Ravens

Pios were so close to sweeping the series
WINCHENDON, Mass. – We were so close to advancing to the conference semifinals!
The Pioneers, who lost 4-0 today, went from 99.9 percent completion of a sweep to falling two games to one in a New England Hockey Association best-of-three quarterfinal series against Franklin Pierce at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.
After winning the first game 2-1 and leading for all but the last 1.6 seconds of game two, Sacred Heart ended up dropping two straight against the Ravens, who advance to the conference semifinals next weekend at top seed LIU.
Carly Greene, who made 35 saves in the Friday win, 39 in Saturday's game and 40 today, finished with 114 for the weekend to close out her sophomore campaign in fine fashion.
FPU flicked in a shot from the low slot in the last seconds of Saturday's game to force game three today. That unlikely tally created all the momentum the Ravens needed to put the series away.
SHU's season ends with a 16-18-3 overall record.
