
Pioneers Take Second at Rider 5 Way

SHU set multiple PRs at the event
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University women's track & field team kicked off its outdoor slate with a second-place finish at the Rider 5 Way on Sunday. The Pioneers ended the event with 197 points as a team to edge Fordham by 73 points.
The Pioneers earned wins from Keegan Pepin (12:12.23) in the 3000m steeplechase, Jessica Pigott (10:48.78) in the 3000m, Kaitlyn Luba (38.29m) in the javelin, and Jenna Engels (3.40m) in the pole vault. Pepin tallied a new personal record in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:12.23.
Magdalena Brogioli tallied a PR time in the 100m with a mark of 14.99. Ava Srinivasan (1:09.25) also posted a new personal record in the 400m hurdles to take fifth place.
Grace Miller set a new personal record in the 3000m steeplechase to take second, edging her teammate Iseabailla Hewitt in third place. Jada Alston (25.75) took second in the 200m. Jennifer Pasram and Kaylee Stenderowicz also placed second this afternoon. Stenderowicz took second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.79m and Pasram (3.35m) finished runner up in the pole vault.
Madeline Archangelo (15.59) in the 100m hurdles, Abbie Mokwuah in the discus (32.65m) and shot put (12.28m), Ava Srinivasan in the high jump (1.55m) and 400m hurdles (1:09.25) all took fifth in their respective events.
Maya Mocarski (100m), Tara Brody (triple jump), and Sydney Abitanto and Erin Dunn in the pole vault all finished in the top 5 this afternoon.
SHU hits the track again for the two-day Black & Gold Invitational, hosted by Bryant, on Friday and Saturday, March 31-April 1.
