The duo claims SHU's first MAAC weekly awards of the season
EDISON, N.J.-- The Sacred Heart University men's lacrosse team picked up a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards for the final week of the regular season. Sophomore Jake Ward was named the offensive player of the week, and first-year Will Moulton was tabbed the rookie of the week.
Ward led the Pioneers offense in a 15-8 victory over Canisius on Saturday. The sophomore tallied seven points from five goals and two assists as the Pioneers secured the fifth seed in the MAAC tournament in the win.
Moulton recorded a season-high three points to claim the rookie of the week award. The first year tallied one goal and two assists to help the Pioneers claim a victory in the last regular season game.
The Pioneers are the fifth seed in the MAAC postseason tournament and will travel to Siena on Saturday, April 29th, at noon for the first round.
