
Women's T&F Completes Day at DeSchriver Invitational

Pios earn 15 top-10 placements to conclude weekend
EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — 15 top-10 placements were on display for the Sacred Heart University women's track and field team as it finished competition at the East Stroudsburg University DeSchriver Invitational, on Sunday evening.
In distance, the Pios grabbed four top-10 placements in the 800m, highlighted by Jayden Darris-O'Connor's second-place finish, taking silver with a time of 2:34.71. Mia Breauninger and Ava Hill took fourth and fifth, respectively, while Emily Arthur rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Pios in the event.
Continuing on the track, Olivia Schwark and Bridget Gulfo grabbed sixth and seventh in the 1000m while Kyla Coughlin took ninth in the mile. The Red & White also had two top-10 finishes in the 5000m as Rebecca Dowling and Leila DeVoe took seventh and tenth, respectively. The Pios also placed both 4x400m relay squads in the top-10 with the quartet of Darris-O'Connor, Breauninger, Hill and Schwark taking fourth place.
SHU earned three more top-10 placements in jumps as Kayleigh Troy grabbed eighth place in the high jump, clearing 1.48m while Kylie Terkildsen and Callie Ahern grabbed eighth and tenth, respectively, in the pole vault with Ahern clearing a new personal best of 2.85m.
Zaida Witkowski grabbed SHU's last top-10 placement of the meet, taking fourth place in shot put with a mark of 10.60m to conclude the meet for the Pioneers.
