FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University Track & Field/Cross Country Head Coach Christian Morrison announced the promotion of Megan Patterson to Associate Head Track & Field/Cross Country Coach on Friday morning.
"I want to thank Coach Patterson for her six total years of service to our program (in two three-year stints) that have prepared her for this promotion," said Morrison. "Please join me in congratulating Coach Patterson on her well-deserved promotion!"
In her first stint with the Pioneers from 2015-18, Patterson helped lead the women's track & field team to seven NEC titles and five Coaching Staff of the Year honors. She added another NEC crown and Coaching Staff of the Year award this season as SHU cruised to its sixth outdoor championship in May.
Patterson's extensive experience also includes serving as the Cross Country/Track & Field Head Coach at Manhattanville College from 2018-21, and 2014-15. While at the helm of the Valiants, Patterson led the team to 47 school records and earned a second-place finish for the men's team in the 2021 Skyline Outdoor Track Championships, which was the highest accomplishment in program history.
