Lopez Cayuela secures the lone goal for the Pios
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's soccer team defeated Columbia on the road Saturday night 1-0. Javier Lopez Cayuela secured the goal for the Pioneers off the bench.

The ball stayed in the midfield for the majority of the first half as both teams played well defensively.
The game's lone goal came in the 75th minute when the Pioneers' Javier Lopez Cayuela sent the ball to the bottom-left corner of the net. The double assist came from Alex Almuzara when he sent in a long ball to the top of the box, finding Sam McCann who footed it to Lopez Cayuela.
SHU outshot the Lions 8-to-6 and 4-to-0 on goal. Columbia dominated in corner opportunities, 5-to-2, but was unable to capitalize.
