Women’s Golf in Seventh After First Round of Navy Fall Invitational

Paulerena and Robilio lead the way for SHU
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Sacred Heart University women's golf team is seventh on the leaderboard after the first round of the Navy Fall Invitational, hosted Saturday at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md.
The Pioneers own a combined score of 313 (+25) following today's action. SHU trails fellow MAAC program Quinnipiac in T5th with a score of 310 (+22). Leading the field is Lehigh at +12, one stroke ahead of hosting Navy.
Nahia Paulerena paces the Pioneers in a tie for fifth place with a one-over 73. The first year birdied a team-best three holes, including the par-four 18th.
Maya Robilio also had a solid start to her tournament, sitting second on the team at 75 (+3), which is suitable for T12th. Robilio carded her lone birdie of the day on the par-three 17th hole.
The duo of Maite Cantu and Jessie Burch ended the opening round one stroke apart at 82 (+10) and 83 (+11). Cantu is tied for 44th place, while Burch is tied for 48th.
Jensie Nicholas (+13) and Ashley Moynahan (+15) rounded out SHU's competitors in T64th and T69th, respectively.
The Pioneers conclude the Navy Fall Invitational tomorrow.
