FAIRFIELD, CONN – The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team returns to the Martire Family Arena this weekend for the first time in three weeks to play Air Force in an Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) series. The Pioneers will kick off Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Nov. 7, with a 7 p.m. tilt against the Falcons before concluding the series on Saturday at 5 p.m.

MIKEY'S SCARY GOOD
Senior defenseman has done a lot over his collegiate ice hockey career, but he just ticked off a first this past week. The Quincy, Mass., native was named the October Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Defenseman of the Month for the first time on Monday. He adds this honor to two AHA Defenseman of the Week nods and his 2024-25 All-AHA Second Team honor. One month into the season, Adamson leads SHU defensemen with five points on one goal and four assists, the latter pacing the team. The senior also owns 11 blocks.
DEBUT WEEKEND
SHU saw a handful of debuts this past weekend at Holy Cross, with
Noah Van Vliet making his collegiate debut,
Chase Ramsay making his Pios debut, and
Luke Amell and
Charles Tardif making their season debuts. Van Vliet made an instant impact with an assist on
Felix Trudeau's goal in the first period. Tardif and Amell both tallied blocks in their season debuts.
LAST TIME OUT
The Pioneers met Holy Cross this past weekend, in a battle between the two favorites in the AHA preseason poll. SHU took one point on the weekend, fighting to a 2-2 tie in the finale on Friday evening. The Crusaders won the opener 5-2 with an empty-netter in the third.
John Driscoll led the team with a point in both games, assisting on the game-tying goal in the second contest.
Noah Ellis matched his fellow blueliner with a goal in the opener, while Trudeau and
Joshua Barnes scored in the finale. Barnes' goal is his first as a Pioneer, while Driscoll netted his first as a senior.
SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Air Force heads into the weekend with a 3-4-1 overall record and a 0-2-0 mark in conference. The Falcons began the year with a 1-1 tie against No. 5 Denver before falling 4-2 to longtime rival Colorado College. An 11-2 loss and a 6-2 victory against St. Thomas followed, while they are coming off a home sweep of Brown in their last two games. Air Force has played two AHA and road games this season, a sweep at the hands of RIT, 5-1 and 7-3, in Rochester. Sophomore forward Nick Sajevic leads the way for Falcons with six assists and 85 faceoff wins. He is third in the conference in assists. Fellow sophomore Sam Stitz paces the team in points with eight (3-5-8). Dominik Wasik and Carter Clafton have both played significant minutes in goal, with Wasik owning a better goals against average (2.49) and save percentage (.910).
ALL-TIME SERIES
Friday's game will mark 74th all-time meeting between the Pioneers and Falcons. Air Force owns a 34-29-10 lead in the all-time series. SHU holds a 19-13-7 record in home games against the Falcons.

The Pioneers remain at home for another weekend AHA series, starting on Friday, Nov. 14, with a 7 p.m. tilt against Canisius. SHU will meet the Golden Griffins again the following day at 5 p.m. at the Martire Family Arena.
