FAIRFIELD, Conn. – In a thrillingly competitive men's wrestling match inside the William H. Pitt Center, Sacred Heart University and Bloomsburg University engaged in a back-and-forth battle, trading victories throughout. The Huskies ultimately emerged triumphant with a 23-17 win over the Pioneers.
How it Happened:
The match kicked off at 133 pounds, where Braxton Fries-Appello was awarded a forfeit victory, giving SHU an early 6-0 lead. However, Bloomsburg quickly asserted their dominance as Kade Kluce delivered a masterful performance, dominating SHU's Ryan Dal Pizzol with a 17-0 tech fall at 141 pounds, putting the visitors ahead 6-5.
At 149 pounds, SHU's Andrew Fallon secured a dominant 18-5 tech fall over Nik Voros, reclaiming the lead for SHU at 11-5. But the Huskies continued to fight back as Luke Thomas scored a 10-1 major decision over Vincent Milazzo at 165 pounds, narrowing the score to 14-9. Then, Nick Foster put on a dominant performance at 174 pounds, earning a 17-2 tech fall over Calum Price, tying the match at 14-14.
