Field Hockey Earns NFHCA Academic Honors

SHU brings in multiple academic awards
MANAHAWKIN, N.J. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has announced its National Academic Awards. The Sacred Heart University field hockey team has earned a National Academic Team Award, and 13 athletes have earned individual recognition.
The team award is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
The Pioneers had 13 athletes named to the Division I National Academic Squad, which honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester and are nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
Additionally, SHU had five athletes recognized as Division I Scholars of Distinction. This program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
