Vencl Named MAAC Player of the Week

This is SHU’s second consecutive weekly recognition
EDISON, N.J. – Matyas Vencl of the Sacred Heart University men's tennis team was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon after his perfect performance over the weekend.
The senior went 2-0 on the weekend in the 4-0 win against Stonehill Saturday evening. Partnered with Enrique Laennec-Baffrey at No. 1 doubles, the pair defeated Nicolas Arrendondo and Jacob Borsch-Nielsen 6-1. At No. 1 singles, Vencl defeated Borch-Nielsen 6-1, 6-4.
This is SHU's second consecutive MAAC Player of the Week recognition following Antoine Hernandez last Wednesday.
The Pioneers will return home Saturday night when they face Wagner at 8:15 p.m.
