Diving Set for First-Ever NCAA Zones Appearance

Lola Barrett and Sinclair Yadao will be representing the Pios
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Lola Barrett and Phifey Boyers of the Sacred Heart University swim and dive team will be representing the Pioneers at their first ever NCAA Zone appearance. The pair will be competing in Zone A on Monday and Tuesday, March 11 and 12, hosted by Rutgers University at Sonny Werblin Recreation Center.
Sinclair Yadao is coming off an impressive first season with the Pios. The first year swept both boards at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, earning both Diving Rookie and Most Outstanding Diver. The Sacramento, Calif., native also earned MAAC Co-Diver of the Week (Oct. 4). Yadao is second all-time in the 1M and third all-time in the 3M at SHU.
Lola Barrett collected multitude of accolades this season. The senior finished second in the 1M and third in the 3M at the MAAC Championship. Earlier in the season, Barrett broke the 1M dive record with a score of 278.55. Last year, Barrett qualified in the 1M and 3M as well.
Diving Coach, Adam Vance, is excited to compete next week. "As we come off of an amazing conference championships, I am truly honored to be coaching senior Lola Barrett, and first year Sinclair Yadao as the program's first competitors at the Zone A Championship," said Vance. "Our divers will be competing with some of the top divers in the country. I am excited to watch our program make their debut at this level, and continue to grow to be our best, year after year."
Barrett will be competing in both the 1M and 3M while Yadao is competing in the 1M. The 3M competition will be held Monday and 1M on Tuesday.
