Women’s Track and Field Claim Five Event Victories

Musa claimed two event victories
West Point, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart University women's track and field team delivered a strong performance, earning victories in the 60m, pole vault, triple jump, 1000m, and 200m.
The 60m was headlined by sophomore Nyahingiva Musa, who claimed first place overall with a time of 7.64 seconds.
Jenna Engels led the Pioneers in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.5 meters to earn a first-place finish. Two other Pios placed inside the top five, while seven finished among the top ten.
Ava Srinivasan led the way in the triple jump with a first-place finish for the Pioneers. Sacred Heart had three athletes finish in the top five, including Annalise Nassy in third and Julia Tozduman in fifth.
The Pioneers showcased their depth in the 1000m, with nine athletes finishing among the top ten. Alivia Schweibinz topped the field, claiming first place overall with a time of 3:04.27.
Musa capped off a stellar day with a victory in the 200m, clocking 25.77 seconds for her second win of the meet.

The Pioneers will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Boston, Mass., to compete in the Suffolk University Relays. The meeting is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
