SHU claims six bouts to secure road victory over New England College
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team picked up a hard-fought 23–18 dual meet victory over the New England College Pilgrims on Friday evening.

The Pioneers earned six bout victories on the night, highlighted by four technical falls and two forfeits, to outlast the Pilgrims in a competitive matchup.
Sacred Heart opened its scoring at 117 pounds, where Samantha Yap recorded a 12–2 technical fall over Madeline Li. The Pioneers continued to build momentum with back-to-back technical falls at 124 and 131 pounds, as Cailan Drake and Elleahna Anderson each secured 10–0 victories over their respective opponents.
At 138 pounds, Sacred Heart received a forfeit from New England College to add five more points to its total.
Tilsa Matakiongo also collected a forfeit win at 207 pounds, giving the Pioneers critical points late in the dual.
Despite wins for NEC at 145, 160, and 180 pounds, Sacred Heart maintained its edge heading into the final bouts to seal the 23–18 team victory.
