Petruno Takes Home Another NEWHA Goaltender of the Week Award

Petruno's sixth NEWHA award of the season
Fairfield, Conn. – For the fifth time this season, senior captain Jillian Petruno has been named the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Goaltender of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the Pioneers going 1-1 this past weekend against LIU, Petruno delivered one of her strongest performances of the season. Across two games, she allowed just two goals, posting a 1.02 goals-against average for the weekend. She also recorded 57 saves, finishing with an impressive .966 save percentage.
On the season, Petruno has lowered her goals-against average to an impressive 1.86. She also ranks fourth in the nation with a stellar .945 save percentage. Petruno and the Pioneers will look to finish the regular season strong, with just one series remaining before the start of the NEWHA playoffs.
