SHU post four falls in dual meet victory inside the Pitt Center
FAIRFIELD, Conn. — In front of a packed Pitt Center crowd on Senior Day, the Sacred Heart University women's wrestling team delivered a statement performance, powering past Western New England University, 29–15, in an emotional home finale on Sunday afternoon.

The Pioneers fed off the energy from the stands early and never looked back, opening the dual with three straight victories to seize momentum and set the tone.
At 103 pounds, Aaliyah Payne-Parris ignited the crowd with a dominant fall over Anna Felicio at the 2:00 mark, giving SHU an immediate spark. Ahsia Torres followed at 110 with an 8–4 decision over Victoria Orender, and Nohea Moniz added another decision at 117 to push Sacred Heart out to an 11–2 advantage.
Western New England battled back through the middle weights, trimming the margin with wins at 124, 131, and 138 to briefly take a 14–12 lead. But the Pioneers responded with championship composure.
At 145, Selena Sifuentes Shaffer delivered a clutch 12–5 decision over Sanyah Queen to even the team score at 15–15, swinging the momentum back to SHU.
From there, the floodgates opened.
Love Daley wasted no time at 160, pinning Mikayla Maloy in just 20 seconds to put Sacred Heart back in front. Madeline Hodges kept the surge going at 180, earning a hard-fought fall over Atiyana Williams at 5:29, and Josephine Larson closed the afternoon in dominant fashion at 207 with an 11–0 technical fall over Samantha Rabkin.
The final three bouts sealed the victory and sent the Pitt Center crowd to its feet as the Pioneers celebrated both the win and their seniors on the mat they've defended all season.
Sacred Heart recorded four falls and one technical fall in the dual, showcasing its depth and power across the lineup while honoring its seniors with a performance worthy of the moment.
