Women's Track and Field Earn Several Podium Finishes at the Stonehill College Invitational

Brogioli leads the way
North Easton, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's track and field team turned in a strong overall performance at the Stonehill College Invitational, finishing the day with multiple podium finishes across events.
The Pioneers found the most success in the high jump event. Kyra Skoglund led the way with a second-place finish after clearing 1.55 meters. Close behind, Ava Coscia earned a third-place finish with a mark of 1.50 meters. Susan Porto also contributed to the strong showing, placing fifth overall to round out three Pioneers in the top five.
Elena Chaplin turned in a strong performance in the shot put, earning a second-place finish with a mark of 12.68 meters.
Valentina Termine also secured a runner-up finish for the Pioneers in the javelin, recording a throw of 29.89 meters.
On the track side, it was Magdalena Brogioli who claimed an event victory in the 100m hurdles. Brogioli delivered a dominant performance, crossing the line in 14.44 seconds, nearly a full second ahead of the second-place finisher.

After a short two-week break, the Pioneers will return to action at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The event is set to begin on Saturday, May 9 at 12:00 PM and will conclude on Sunday, May 10.
