FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Drew Housman led four Harvard players in double figures with 16 points as the Crimson held off several Sacred Heart rallies for a 75-72 non-conference victory Friday night.
Jim Goffredo added 15 points and Matt Stehle had 13 points and eight rebounds for Harvard. Housman also handed out six assists.
Jarrid Frye led all scorers with a career-high 23 points for Sacred Heart (1-2). Luke Granato and Kibwe Trim scored 14 points apiece. Frye scored 15 points in the first half to keep Sacred Heart close.
Harvard (3-0) led by as many as nine points in the first half but its lead was just three at the break.
Sacred Heart took its first lead since 1-0 on a Drew Shubik basket with 6:58 left in the game, making it 61-60, but Stehle and Goffredo answered with hoops to put Harvard ahead by three.
The biggest blow came with 1:34 left when Ko Yada hit his second basket of the game, a 3-pointer that put the Crimson ahead 71-65.
