Men’s Basketball Announces 2026-27 Metro Conference Schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team has announced its 2026-27 Metro Conference schedule, featuring 20 contests, including 10 games at the William H. Pitt Center.
The Pioneers will face eight conference opponents twice, while playing Niagara, Quinnipiac, Rider and Merrimack once during the regular season. Sacred Heart will host Niagara and Quinnipiac, while traveling to Rider and Merrimack.
Sacred Heart opens Metro Conference play on Friday, Dec. 4, at Marist before traveling to Saint Peter's on Sunday, Dec. 6.
The Pioneers return home to open the new year, hosting Niagara on Thursday, Jan. 1, followed by Canisius on Saturday, Jan. 3. Sacred Heart then travels to Siena on Jan. 8 before returning to the Pitt Center for a pair of games against Manhattan (Jan. 10) and Mount St. Mary's (Jan. 13). The Pioneers make a quick trip to New Rochelle, N.Y., to face Iona on Jan. 16 before returning home to take on in-state rival Quinnipiac on Jan. 18.
Sacred Heart then hits the road to Buffalo, N.Y., for a matchup against Canisius on Jan. 22 before returning to the Pitt Center to take on Marist on Jan. 24. The Pioneers then travel to Rider on Jan. 29 before closing out January at home against Iona on Jan. 31.
The Pioneers open February at home with a cross-town rivalry matchup against Fairfield on Feb. 5 at the Pitt Center.
Sacred Heart then travels to Manhattan (Feb. 7) and Mount St. Mary's (Feb. 13) before hosting Saint Peter's on Feb. 19 and Siena on Feb. 21.
The Pioneers close out the regular season with two road games, beginning with a trip to Merrimack on Feb. 26. Sacred Heart then concludes the regular season with an away matchup against Fairfield on Feb. 28.
The 2027 Metro Conference Championship will take place on March 4-9 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., with the Pioneers looking to compete for the conference championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
