Men’s Basketball Duo Earns Preseason All-Metro Honors

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Metro Conference announced its 2026-27 Preseason All-Metro teams and Coaches' Poll Wednesday morning at the Metro Conference Tipoff event, with two Sacred Heart University men's basketball players earning preseason honors.
Junior transfer Jojo Wallace was named to the Preseason All-Metro Second Team, while graduate student Griffin Barrouk earned a spot on the Third Team.
Wallace is no stranger to the Metro Conference, having spent his rookie season at Iona before transferring to Southern New Hampshire University for his sophomore campaign. The junior guard joins the Pioneers after a standout 2025-26 season in which he averaged 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Wallace shot 48% (261-for-546) from the field and 42% (61-for-148) from three-point range.
His impressive season earned him All-NE10 First Team honors, as well as D2CCA East All-Region First Team and NABC East All-District First Team recognition.
Barrouk returns to the Pioneers for the 2026-27 season after missing last season due to injury. During his first season at Sacred Heart, Barrouk appeared in 33 games with 17 starts, averaging 7.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
The graduate student recorded eight double-figure scoring performances, including a pair of career-high 19-point games against Canisius on Jan. 5, 2025, and Saint Peter's on Feb. 23, 2025. Against Saint Peter's, Barrouk also knocked down a career-high six three-pointers.
Sacred Heart is coming off its second appearance in the Metro Conference Basketball Championship. The Pioneers defeated Iona in the opening round before their season came to an end in the quarterfinals against Merrimack.
