
Pioneers finish 19th at Towson Invitational

GRASONVILLE, Md.—The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished the Towson Spring Invitational in 19th on Sunday. The Pioneers finished with a tournament total of 635, 59 strokes over par.
Junior Matt Shubley was SHU's top finisher at +9 over the two-day tournament, putting him tied for 43rd. Shubley finished round two with a score of 77, including a pair of birdies on the day. Senior AJ Correia finished the tournament 16-over par, he recorded a pair of birdies himself in the front nine in round two, but finished with a score of 85. Sophomore Hector Gutierrez finished the tournament with a score of +18, he recorded his lone birdie of the weekend on a par five in round two. Sophomore Alex Manner and junior Connor Cunningham both rounded out the Pioneers scoring group with a score of 19 over par.
Sacred Heart finished behind three Northeast Conference foes, Fairleigh Dickinson, Bryant and Robert Morris. Elon took home the team title at +11, one stroke behind them in second was tournament host Towson.
The Pioneers head out west to compete at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay, beginning Monday, April 3.
