Equestrian Tabbed High Point Team In Final Home Show Of The Season

NORWALK, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Equestrian team was named the High Point team of the day as the Pioneers tallied 47 points on the teams senior day to take the first place ribbon. SHU will return to action on Saturday Feb. 22 when the Pioneers compete at UCONN. Shows begin at 9:00 a.m.

SHU claimed first place ribbons in 10 events with freshman Hanna Lloyd being the main highlight as she took first in Open Flat Section B which qualified her for regionals. As today was senior day for the Pioneers, four seniors took first in their respective events. Senior Anne Bergere took first in Intermediate Flat Section B while senior Emily Spellman took first in Limit Flat Section C. Senior Valerie Stein placed first in Novice Flat Section B and senior Marissa Otto took first in Introductory Flat Section B. Senior Michaela Fritsch placed first in Intermediate Fences Section B as well.

Open Flat Section A: Sophomore Danielle DeRisio placed 1^st

Open Flat Section B: Freshman Hanna Lloyd placed 1^st (qualified for regionals)
