
Five Member's of Men's Ice Hockey Named to Atlantic Hockey All-Conference Teams

WALTHAM, Mass.- The Atlantic Hockey Association today announced the 2019-20 All-Conference teams. Senior Jason Cotton, senior Mike Lee, and Senior Austin McIlmurray all made the AHA First-Team All-Conference while first-year Braeden Tuck was named to the All-Rookie team. Individual performance and team awards will be named next Wednesday by the Association.
Cotton was one of the most prolific scorers in Atlantic Hockey this season. He was tied for fourth in point scoring (.96) in the conference and tenth in the nation in goal scoring at .59 goals a game. He was by far the best overall scorer, scoring three power play goals, three shorthanded goals, three game-winning goals and a hat trick this season. Cotton currently has played 118 career games with 41 goals and 40 assists at Sacred Heart in their quest to win their first Atlantic Hockey championship. He has racked up a career high 20 goals alonside 17 assists for 37 points.
McIlmurray is capping off his career at Sacred Heart with a career high in goals (17) and assists (14) this season. He scored a league leading 31 points this season. He also leads the league with 11 power play goals scored, tied for first nationally in that category, and scored three game-winners along with a hat trick in a breakout senior season.
Benson followed up his freshman year with a spectacular sophomore season. In 27 AHA games started this season, the Pioneer went 17-8-2, with four shutout victories on the season. He had a .902 save percentage and a 2.49 GAA, improving from last years .898 save percentage and 2.54 GAA.
Lee tallied a league leading 28 assists alonside five goals to rack up a career high 33 points. He has racked up three games in which he assisted three times which came against Niagara, RIT and Robert Morris. He currently sits first in the leage in assists and sits 10th in the nation in assists.
Tuck was an immediate contributor to the Pioneers this season. He scored the most points among freshman this season with 26 points and also led the AHA in assists among rookies with 22. Tuck also added a shorthanded goal, a game-winning goal and 13 blocks to his growing resume and also led the rookie class with a +16 plus/minus. Tuck is also tenth in the nation in points per game among freshman at .82 points per game.
