Box Score BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Despite an eighth-inning rally to tie the game after being down two, the Sacred Heart University baseball team dropped an 8-6 contest against the University of Massachusetts in 11 innings on Tuesday.

Of Note:
- After trailing by two, Joe Emerson's single tied up the game in the bottom of the eighth driving by Anthony Porrino and Austin Markmann to force extra innings. SHU had a chance to take the lead by stranded a pair of runners in scoring position.
- The Minutemen led off with four runs in the top of the first and Justin Jordan tallied one for the Pioneers off a wild pitch.
- In the tenth, UMass scored a run but thanks to a Trevor Fagan sacrifice fly to right field, Markmann scored to extend the game another inning.
- The Minutemen cemented the victory at the top of the 11th after two crossed the plate.
- Michael Attonito came in to clean up a messy fourth after a UMass solo home run to get the Pioneers out of the inning.
