Track & Field Finishes Fourth At Angry Birds Challenge

Five women and three men place in the top three
BETHLEHEM, Pa.— The Sacred Heart University, women's and men's track & field teams, claimed fourth-place at the Lehigh Angry Birds Challenge on Saturday.
Five Pioneers placed in the top three on the women's side. Kaylee Stenderowicz won the triple jump for the second time in a row with a season-best 11.64m leap. Sydney Abitanto (pole vault, 3.35m (PR)), Maya Mocarski (60m, 7.89) and Abbie Mokwuah (Shot Put, 12.72m) finished second in their events. Brigit Kelly earned third in the 5000m with a time of 18:58.51.
Sacred Heart rounded out the top five with two fifth-place finishes and personal bests from Jenna Engels (3.20m) in pole vault and Sarah Lamoreaux (1.55m) in the high jump.
On the men's side, three Pioneers finished in the top three, including a second-place run from Joseph Morrone in the 400m with a time of 51.50. Both Lance Hayes and Nazir Hibbert each finished third in their events. Hayes crossed the finish line at 2:00.56 in the 800m while Hibbert matched his personal best in high jump with 1.95m.
Sacred Heart saw four complete the top five. Jonathan Mahon earned fourth in the 200m with a personal-best 23.20. Daniel DiGangi (Pole Vault, 4.25m), Rafael Mahario (60m, 7.17) and Moetiz Shilleh (5000m, 15:50.29) claimed fifth. DiGangi and Mahario also notched personals bests.
Up next, the Pioneers compete at the New York City Gotham Cup on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Center in Staten Island, N.Y.
