Lim Captures Autumn Invitational as Pios Finish Second

Host Columbia edges Sacred Heart by a stroke.
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Despite medalist honors by junior Marcus Lim, the Sacred Heart University men's golf team couldn't hold onto the lead at the Autumn Invitational, hosted by Columbia. The Lions rallied to defeat the Pioneers at the Lake Place Golf Course.
Going into Sunday's last round, Sacred Heart had a five-stroke lead. SHU posted a final round score of 295, but Columbia was six strokes better with a 289 and a winning score of 842 to the Pioneers' 843 (271-277-295).
Capturing his second individual title of the season was Lim. He was the only player to post a sub-70 score all three rounds with a winning total of 199 (65-66-68).
Recording the first top-10 finish of his collegiate career was rookie Pablo Lacayo with a ninth-place total of 213 (70-67-76). Classmate Michael Rotheberg was two strokes back with his 11th-place 215 (68-73-74). Sophomore Blake Moreno tallied a 216 (68-71-77) and senior Nico Ciolino carded a 233 (74-78-81).
Next up for the Pioneers is the Bucknell Invitational, October 10-11.
