Pioneers Cruise Past Western New England

Raheem Solomon and Nico Galette led the Pioneers
FAIRFIELD, Conn.-- The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team used a strong second half to cruise past Western New England, 100-59 on Monday night. Raheem Solomon scored a career-high 26 points, and Nico Galette recorded his first double-double of the season to lead the Pioneers.

After having a five-point lead at the half, 35-30, the Pioneers opened the second half with a 20-5 run to take a dominating 55-35 lead during the opening four minutes.
With 7:31 left in the game, Sacred Heart went on a 21-2 run to put the Pioneers up 95-53 with 3:00 remaining. During the run, Tommaso Ferraresi made his first career three-pointer, Kenneth Womack made his first two points of the season in the first game he has dressed in since joining the team after football season.
Dominic Mello made his first-career three-pointer during the first half to give the Pioneers an 11-10 lead. Sophomore Najee Coursey tallied his first career-points with five, including a three-pointer late in the game.
Galette, Solomon, and Sixsmith all scored in double figures for the Pioneers. Galette has scored in double figures in every game this season.
Every player dressed for tonight's game recorded a point in the win for the Pioneers.
