Bryce Johnson had his third double-double of the season
STONY BROOK, N.Y.-- Junior Bryce Johnson recorded his third double-double of the season, and Raheem Solomon scored 19 points to lead three Pioneers in double figures in Sacred Heart University men's basketball team's loss to Stony Brook, 71-64, on the road on Monday evening.

Galette came out hot to open the game, as he scored eight of the Pioneers first 11 points. With his second three-pointer of the game at 15:08, Galette gave Sacred Heart an 11-4 advantage. The Pioneers went up by nine, 16-7, thanks to a jumper by Joey Reilly at 12:57. Stony Brook answered with a 6-0 run to bring the Seawolves within two at 16-14 at 10:50, in the first half.
Sacred Heart went on a 9-2 run, including back-to-back dunks by Raymond Espinal-Guzman, to extend its lead to 25-16 with 6:33 left in the first half. The Pioneers improved its lead by as many as 12 points to take a 31-19 edge with 3:37 left in the first half. Stony Brook answered with five straight points to cut the deficit, 31-24, with 36 seconds left in the half. Johnson made a layup with five seconds to go to give the Pioneers a 33-24 lead at the half.
Galette opened the second half with a jumper to extend the Pioneers to an 11-point lead, 35-24. The Seawolves responded with a 12-3 run, bringing Stony Brook within two, 38-36. Sacred Heart took a six-point lead at 14:13 in the second half before the Seawolves went on an 11-2 run to claim a lead, 49-49 with 12:09. Sacred Heart took its final lead of the game when Johnson made a jumper with 3:20 remaining to go up one, 64-63. Stony Brook scored the final eight points of the game, to take the 71-64 final.
