FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University's golf course continues to earn distinction.
Great River Golf Club earned a No. 16 ranking on Golfweek's Best 2022 Campus Courses in the United States.
The list, which focuses on courses owned and/or operated by colleges, included 40 different venues. This ranking is one of many accolades garnered by the course that hosts the men's and women's golf teams at Sacred Heart, both of which posted 2022 conference titles and appearances at NCAA Championships.
Built along the banks of the Housatonic River, Great River Golf Club is a championship-style, Tommy Fazio-designed 18-hole destination with easy access from I-95 and the Merritt Parkway. The club has an expansive practice area and clubhouse facility.
The hundreds of members of Golfweek's course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses. They also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce a final number for each that is then used to compile the Golfweek's Best course rankings.
