Pios Continue Indoor Season at BU John Thomas Terrier Classic

Cameron Croce tallied a second place finish
BOSTON – Cameron Croce and Owen Nassaney each posted strong showings for the Sacred Heart University men's track and field team on Friday at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Men's Classic, hosted at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
Nassaney began his day with a jump of 1.90m in the high jump finals to finish in fourth. In addition to the high jump, the senior from North Attleboro, Mass., also placed ninth in the long jump with a new personal-record mark of 6.53m.
Croce continued his stellar indoor season by recording a toss of 17.90m in the weight throw, his longest weight throw in the team's four events after the new year.
Sacred Heart added two more top-10 performers to its ledger with solid outings from Douglas Suter and Corry Brinken. Suter finished ninth in the pole vault with a season-high jump of 3.65m, while Brinken placed ninth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.19.
Eamon Bednarcik, Nathaniel Dussault, and Blake Stewart rounded out the Pioneers' athletes to earn a top-15 showing. Bednarcik tied his PR in the pole vault with a mark of 3.05m as he placed 11th. Stewart took 13th in the long jump (6.30m), and Dussault placed 15th in the triple jump with a new season-high mark of 11.82m.
The Pioneers also tallied a top-five finish in the 1,600m relay, clocking a combined time of 3:18.89 to place fifth.
The Sacred Heart men's track and field team returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 2, for day one of the two-day New England Intercollegiate Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass.
