SHU Puts 25 on AHA All-Academic Team

Britt, Fantauzzi among 14 AHA Student-Athletes of the Year

WINTHROP, Mass. (June 20, 2023) – The Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team has had 25 players named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team, as announced on Tuesday by the league office. In addition, seniors Logan Britt (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Dante Fantauzzi (North York, Ontario) were among 14 AHA players to share Student-Athlete of the Year accolades.

All-Academic honors were bestowed on all Atlantic Hockey players who posted a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher in both the fall and spring semesters of the 2022-23 academic year. Sacred Heart's 25 awardees put the Pios tied with Canisius for fourth-most in the league. The two teams trailed only American International, Bentley and Niagara, all of which had 26 players honored. A total of 213 players across the league earned All-Academic plaudits.

In addition, Atlantic Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year honors were shared among the 14 players in the league who put together perfect, 4.0 GPAs for the year. SHU was one of just four AHA schools to put more than one player on the list.
