PERAK, Malaysia – Over two months removed from the end of the 2022-23 collegiate season, Sacred Heart University men's golf standout Marcus Lim placed second at the Toyota Tour's Corolla Cup in Perak, Malaysia, which spanned Tuesday-Thursday, July 11-13.
Lim, a back-to-back Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year, claimed sole possession of second place at the three-day event with a -8 208 (69-71-68). The Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, native competed in a 68-person field that featured a mix of professionals and amateurs. Lim was bested by long-time pro Danny Chia, who carded a -12 204 (68-67-69).
Lim was one of just five golfers to record below-par scores in all three rounds. The first Ping All-American in NEC history was at his best in the third round today, as he posted a four-under 68 to ascend the leaderboard. He tallied three birdies on both the front and back nines. Lim's four on the par-five 18th moved him from a three-way tie for second to solo second place.
