The Pioneers opened scoring in the 40
th minute when
Eli Stein maneuvered through Rams' defenders sending the ball in the net off his left foot into the bottom left of the cage.
The Rams responded quickly three minutes later when keeper
Andrew Hammersley was drawn out of the net and Noe Messer sent in a long ball to tie the match.
Fordham's second goal came later in the 76
th minute after back-to-back one-touch passes from Ede Gramberg and Daniel D'Ippolito found Daniel Lang for a wide open goal to build the lead to 2-1.
The teams saw many opportunities throughout the match totaling 27 shots with 14 on goal. With opportunity came physicality, as the teams saw 26 fouls and five yellow cards.
The Rams dominated corners 5-1 and shots on goal 10-4.
