Men's Golf Remains in Seventh at UConn Invitational

Rothberg carded the second-best round of the day
HAMPDEN, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's golf team is still in seventh place after the second round of the UConn Invitational on Monday at the GreatHorse in Hampden, Mass.
The Pioneers carded a 299 (+11) this afternoon, taking a combined score of 593 (+17) into tomorrow's third round. UConn pulled into the solo lead of its home event, sitting with a 36-hole score of 578 (+2).
Mike Rothberg leads the way for the Pioneers after a stellar showing today. The junior carded a 69 (-3), which was the second-best round of the afternoon. Rothberg owns a combined score of 142 (-2) to sit in a tie for fifth. He finished the round with five birdies, sinking four of them on the back nine.
Pablo Lacayo is next on the Pioneers in T15th. The junior has tallied identical rounds of 73 (+1) for a 146 (+2). Lacayo matched Rothberg with five birdies on the day.
Next on the leaderboard for SHU was Ethan Phillips, who is tied for 37th. The graduate transfer sits at 150 (+6) through 36 holes following rounds of 74 and 76.
Robby Zyskowski III and Jason Pelley are tied for 65th through two rounds with scores of 160 (+16).
The third and final round of the UConn Invitational is slated to start tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
