Bowling Tabbed 14th in NCBCA Poll

SHU has not been recognized by the NCBCA for some time
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University women's bowling team was ranked 14th in the second edition of the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA), released this afternoon.
The poll includes programs from NAIA, club, and NCAA levels that compete in the USBC collegiate. Coaches vote based on the NCAA's RPI rankings; we are 11th, and in the USBC power rankings, we are 26th. The NCBCA has not recognized the Pioneers in a long time.
Sacred Heart was ranked 11th in the the December edition of the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Coaches Poll after an outstanding start to the 2024-25 campaign.
The Pioneers own an impressive 32-12 record through their first four tournaments of the year. SHU won 10 times against ranked competition, including against then No. 6 North Carolina A&T State, No. 7 Louisiana Tech and No. 8 Sam Houston.
The Pioneers last finished fourth at the Colonial Lanes Classic, hosted by Tulane on Nov. 15-17. SHU started the event with wins in its first five matches and won ranked contests against No. 8 Sam Houston, No. 15 Newman and No. 17 Wichita State.
Sacred Heart begins the second half of their schedule on Friday, Jan. 17, at the Northeast Classic they are hosting in New Castle, Del.
