Hernandez Earns SHU’s First MAAC Weekly Tennis Award

The senior went 2-0 at singles this past week
EDISON, N.J. – For the first time as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), Sacred Heart University men's tennis won a Jersey Mike's MAAC Men's Tennis Weekly Award as Antoine Hernandez was named the Men's Player of the Week.
Hernandez went 2-0 at #3 singles over a busy weekend of tennis for the Pioneers. The senior defeated his Army opponent, Vishnu Bodavula, 6-1, 5-7, 10-8 on Friday. Hernandez also defeated St. Bonaventure's Davis Matney, 6-2, 6-0, in a SHU sweep on Saturday.
The Pioneers continue their spring season on Sat. Feb 1, with a home 5:30 p.m. match against Stonehill at the Trumbull Tennis Courts.
