
Pioneers Have Strong Showing at Mark Young Invitational

Personal bests throughout the day
NEW HAVEN, CT. — Members of the Pioneers track and field squad took the quick trip to Yale to compete at the Mark Young Invitational. Throughout the eventful competition, numerous Pioneers would secure new personal bests.
Douglas Suter began the day for the Pioneers, securing a second-place finish in the pole vault. Suter cleared 3.90m just short of his personal best, which he set last weekend. Suter, a native of Somers, CT., also went on to claim second in the javelin with a throw of 49.66m. Callie Ahern claimed the best finish for the women's high-flyers, claiming fifth with a personal best clearance of 3.40m.
On the track, Kevin Dorio secured a personal best time of 16.74 in the 110m hurdles and finished in second place. Senior Kimora Johnson finished in fourth place for the women in the 110m hurdles. In the 100m dash, Jacques Lucien II finished his race in 11.26, good enough for fifth and a personal best for the sophomore.
