D’Amore and Ungar Collect All-MAAC Second Team Recognition

EDISON, N. J. – Dante D'Amore and Alex Ungar of the Sacred Heart University baseball team were named to All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) teams announced by the conference office Monday morning.
D'Amore earned recognition at first base for his stellar performance in the field and at the plate this season. Offensively, the senior averaged .306 with 59 hits, 15 doubles and five home runs. In the field, the Southington, Conn., native has tallied 374 putouts and 28 assists with a .975 fielding percentage.
Ungar is recognized for his performance in the outfield and offensively this season. The senior averages .363 at the plate with 65 hits, 23 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, and 44 RBIs with a .698 slugging percentage. The Ronkonkoma, N.Y., native leads the MAAC in stolen bases with 31 and in doubles. In the field, the right-fielder has a .981 fielding percentage with 98 putouts and 5 assists.
The Pioneers concluded their regular season and will head to Clover Stadium in Pamona, N.Y., for the MAAC Championship on Wednesday, May 21, to face the lowest remaining seed at 11 a.m.
