Fairfield, Conn. – Will Rudolph came through in the clutch with a walk-off single in the 10th inning, lifting Sacred Heart to a comeback victory over Mount St. Mary’s.

How It Happened
Sacred Heart threatened early in the first as JW Fitzgerald and Ronan Donohue each singled, with Donohue stealing second and Will Cook drawing a walk, but the Pioneers were unable to capitalize.
Ryan Parker was strong on the mound, recording a strikeout in the second and two more in the third to keep Mount St. Mary's off the board through the opening innings.
After Gavin Donohue walked and Fitzgerald added another single in the third, Sacred Heart again left runners stranded.
Mount broke through with two runs in the fourth, but the Pioneers responded in the bottom half when Will Rudolph reached on an error and later scored on a single from Gavin Donohue after a sacrifice bunt moved runners into scoring position.
Parker continued to deal, adding two more strikeouts in the fifth, while Sacred Heart evened the score in the inning as Ronan Donohue tripled to center and came home on a sacrifice from Peter Link.
Parker recorded his final strikeout in the sixth before PJ Rogan took over late, striking out a batter in the eighth and escaping a bases-loaded jam in the tenth with a clutch strikeout.
In the bottom of the tenth, Link worked a leadoff walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Cook before Rudolph delivered a single to left center, scoring Link for the walk-off win.

The Pioneers return to Veterans Park tomorrow for game 3 against Mount St. Mary's for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
