Musa breaks a program record

Boston, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's track and field team delivered a strong showing at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by seven top-three finishes across multiple events.

It started with Nyahingiva Musa, who delivered a record-breaking performance in the 60-meter dash. Musa set a new program record with a time of 7.48 seconds, finishing third overall and just 0.04 seconds behind the event winner. She followed that up with another podium finish in the 200 meters, placing third overall with a time of 25.15 to cap off a fantastic individual meet.

First-year standout Alivia Schweibinz also impressed for the Pioneers. Competing in the 3,000 meters, she earned a second-place finish with a time of 10:03.62, crossing the line just seven seconds behind the event winner.

Lauryn Piccirelli shined in the high jump event. Piccirelli jumped at a mark of 1.67m, which was good enough to tie for third place overall.

Jenna Engels continued her impressive stretch for the Pioneers. Coming off back-to-back record-breaking weekends, she added another strong result with a third-place finish after clearing 3.80 meters.
Ava Srinivasan also earned a podium finish in the triple jump, placing third overall with a mark of 11.59 meters.

The final podium finish of the day for the Pioneers came from Suzan Adekunle in the weight throw. Adekunle, who has recorded multiple podium finishes so far this season, delivered again with a third-place result after posting a throw of 16.80 meters.

The Pioneers return to action next weekend, competing at the 49th ECAC and 104th IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8.
