Women's Track and Field Turn in a Fantastic Performance at the 49th ECAC and 104th IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships

Program records and event wins lead the way
Boston, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University women's track and field team turned in a fantastic performance, which included program records, at the 49th ECAC and 104th IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday.
Nyahingiva Musa delivered an impressive two-day performance for the Pioneers. She began in the 60-meter dash, finishing third overall with a time of 7.51 seconds. Musa then went on to break the program record in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 24.49 seconds, which was good for a seventh-place finish.
The Pioneers secured an event victory in the high jump, led by Lauryn Piccirelli. Piccirelli cleared a height of 1.77 meters, marking the highest jump of her career. Kaitlyn Caraco also delivered a strong performance, finishing fourth overall with a height of 1.63 meters.
The Pioneers earned their second event victory in the pole vault, as Jenna Engels continued her dominant season. Engels cleared a height of 3.86 meters to take first overall, setting a new program record and surpassing her own previous mark.
Suzan Adekunle delivered another impressive performance, finishing fifth overall in the weight throw. She recorded a mark of 16.40 meters.
Up Next:
The Pioneers will have a two-week break before heading to New York to compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships. The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22.
