Petruno Takes Home NEWHA Goaltender of the Week

This is Petruno's fifth NEWHA award of the season
Fairfield, Conn. – Following a third straight series sweep against Post, senior captain Jillian Petruno took home the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) goaltender of the week.
Petruno had another fantastic weekend. In the two wins, she turned aside 78 shots and held the Eagles scoreless, earning her tenth career shutout. With her strong performance, Petruno lowered her goals-against average to 1.94, just shy of her career best of 1.93, which she set during her sophomore season.
Petruno and the Pioneers will look to continue their dominant stretch as the NEWHA playoffs approach. Petruno is set to face LIU this weekend, before the Pioneers close out the regular season with a series against Assumption the following weekend.
