Trudeau is up for Player and Forward of the Year, while Adamson is up for Defenseman of the Year
BOSTON – A day after being named First Team All-Atlantic Hockey America (AHA), Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey seniors Felix Trudeau and Mikey Adamson were named finalist for major AHA awards.
Trudeau is in the final three for both Player of the Year and Forward of the Year, while Adamson is in the final two for Defenseman of the Year. Both players are up for these awards for the first time in their collegiate careers after leading SHU to the No. 2 seed in the AHA Postseason and to a program-record tying 21 heading into the semis this weekend.
The winners of the major AHA awards will be announced on Tuesday, March 17.
Trudeau been one of the best players in the conference all season, as he leads the AHA in goals (24) and points (43), the former sitting in a tie for second place in the country. He also paces Division I with 11 power play goals and is second with two hat tricks and third with 0.69 goals per game. Trudeau heads into the AHA Semifinals ranked second on the SHU single-season goals leaderboard.
For the second straight season, Trudeau represents the Pioneers as the team's Hobey Baker Award nominee. This year alone, he is a two-time AHA Forward of the Month and Forward of the Week.
Adamson has been just as impressive on the other end of the ice, coming off his first All-AHA First Team nod. The senior from Quincy, Mass., has played in all 36 of the Pioneers' games and heads into the weekend leading all AHA defensemen in assists with 26. His 26 assists and 30 points are both a career high, as he ranks fifth on SHU's single-season assists leaderboard.
Adamson ends his collegiate career with one AHA Defenseman of the Month award and four Defenseman of the Week honors, and was named All-AHA Second Team as a junior in 2024-25.
The Pioneers kick off the AHA Semifinals on Friday, March 13, for the first game of the best-of-three series. The Friday contest is slated to start at 7 p.m. while the Saturday and Sunday (in necessary) games will start at 5 p.m. at the Martire Family Arena.
