Men’s Ice Hockey Claims 3-1 Win over Niagara in AHA Quarters

Trudeau scored his 24th goal of the season
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Three different players scored goals as the Sacred Heart University men's ice hockey team took a 3-1 win over Niagara on Friday evening in the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Quarterfinals at the Martire Family Arena.

How It Happened
After a slow start to the game, the Pioneers netted the game's first goal on the power play, as Reid Pabich continued his scorching play. Pabich took a pass from Gavin Bryant on the opposite goal line and scored before the sliding goalie could reposition himself. Felix Trudeau also got an assist on the play.
After the Purple Eagles evened the score in the first 1:44 of the second, SHU needed an answer and got one from Vitaly Levyy. The sophomore tipped a Liam Lesakowski shot from the high slot into the bottom left corner of the net to make it 2-1 SHU at 15:46.
The third period was tense, as the one-goal advantage stood for the first 17:51 of the period before Trudeau scored an empty-netter to ice it.
Ajeet Gundarah made 29 saves to earn his 10th win of the season. The standout sophomore was outstanding in the first and third periods with 11 saves and no goals allowed.
