
Track and Field Concludes the George Mason University Ebanks Invitational

A program record leads the way
Fairfax, VA – The Sacred Heart University men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the George Mason University Ebanks Invitational on Saturday, April 4, wrapping up a two-day event. Both the men's and women's teams recorded multiple top finishes over the course of the meet.
On the men's side, Lance Hayes led the way for the Pios. Competing in the 400m event, Hayes secured a first-place finish with a time of 47.536 seconds, narrowly edging out the second-place finisher who crossed at 47.539 seconds.
On the field side, Hunter Bishop earned a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a mark of 53.13m.
In the shot put, Benjamin Cicchitelli also placed fifth, recording a throw of 14.61m.
On the women's side, Nyahingiva Musa turned in a strong performance in the 100m event, earning a fourth-place finish with a time of 11.65 seconds.
The Pioneers also broke a program record in the 4x100m relay, as Magdalena Brogioli, Annalise Nassy, Nyahingiva Musa, and Ariyana Jackson teamed up to post a time of 47.04 seconds.

The Pioneers will return to action next weekend on April 10, competing at the Southern Connecticut State University Wilton Wright Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m., as well as the Silfen Invitational Friday Night Elite Distance Races starting at 4:30 p.m.
