High School - Zachary Schafer set the single season record with 100 tackles at Mansfield High School under Head Coach Michael Redding. Schafer served as a captain in his senior season and was named a 2011 Massachusetts Coaches' All-Star, a Sun Chronicle All-Star, and earned a spot on the Boston Herald All-Scholastic squad. He also secured Hockomock All-League honors and was selected as the circuit's defensive MVP. Schafer's squad captured the 2010 Massachusetts Division II Super Bowl Championship in 2010 and captured the 2010-11 Hockomock League crown. He ranks third on the all-time tackles list as an honor roll student throughout high school.

His favorite sports teams are the Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics. His favorite professional athletes are Ray Lewis and Patrick Lewis. He likes the Batman movies and his favorite TV show is Criminal Minds. His father his his role model.
