Adkison joined Sacred Heart ahead of the 2015-16 season for the men and women's track and field program. He brings ten years of coaching experience at the collegiate level to SHU, most recently serving as a volunteer assistant at Texas College.
Adkison has previously worked as an assistant at Southwest Baptist University, Cal State University-Los Angeles, and Texas A&M University-Commerce. In total, he has coached 36 All-Conference performers, 11 conference champions, nine All-Americans, 30 national qualifiers, two national champions, three US National qualifiers, and his student-athletes have broken 23 school records.
As a student-athlete, Adkison competed at Northeast Conference member LIU Brooklyn, where he was a two-time team captain, a three-time All-Conference performer, and broke four schools records and one conference record.
While at LIU, Adkison received a Bachelor of Art in Media Arts, Film Production. He has since earned a Master of Science in Education, Physical Education from Southwest Baptist University and a Master of Science in Kinesiology, Sports Studies from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Adkison holds certifications from both USA Track and Field (USATF) and the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
