Three event wins lead the way

North Easton, Mass. – The Sacred Heart University men's track and field team turned in a good performance at the Stonehill College Invitational. They finish the day with multiple event wins and podium finishes.

Tyler Durang, competing in his second meet of the weekend, got things started for the Pioneers with a first-place finish in the discus. Durang recorded a mark of 46.58 meters, nearly two meters farther than the second-place finisher.

Durang was not done there, as he continued his dominant weekend by taking home another event win in the hammer throw. He recorded a mark of 58.80 meters.

First-year Brandon Rosas also had a strong day in the pole vault, taking home an event victory after clearing a height of 4.55 meters.

Benjamin Cicchitelli added another strong performance for the Pioneers in the shot put, recording a mark of 14.60 meters to earn a third-place finish.

Up Next:
After a short two-week break, the Pioneers will return to action at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The event is set to begin on Saturday, May 9 at 12:00 PM and will conclude on Sunday, May 10.
